I first met up with the crowd outside the Rolex stand,

We later gathered around James Dowling, the author of " The Best of Time - Rolex Wristwatches - An Unauthorized History" for a Q&A session involving the latest offering by Rolex. This was mostly dominated by questions with regards to the Sea-Dweller Deepsea.

Everyone kindly posed for this shot against the wall, which was rather amusing for some 8)

At this point a lot of us were rather famished, so we headed out for some lunch...

A rare first prototype worn by James. This is akin to the watch worn by Mercedes Gleitz, who became the first English lady to swim the channel, and thereby advertising the Rolex invention: the Oyster case!

I had the opportunity to weigh my DateJust (pictured left) against Derek's Platinum beauty (right). My DateJust weighs around 125g whilst the his 'classic' Platinum Day-Date weighs 220g.

I also got to try it on...

At this point, Harry and David set about snapping the 'table shot'...

Nico had fun photographing and trying my DateJust...

I also had the pleasure of meeting Jocke,

At this point, Harry decided to pull out some Montblancs and well...I had to join in the fun...the two I had on me were placed at an angle...

It was time for me to catch my train home, so bye bye Baselworld!

These guys know I am no expert but I have learned this: If eBay, check previous feedback-looking for other watch sales in particular.
There are a few sites out there that offer an expose' on fakes vs real watches-do Google search. Items such as bracelets and casebacks can be a clue. However I spoke with a jeweler last week, who refuses to deal in used watches anymore, due to the flux of very good imitations that can fool even some of the more informed folks.
Request a refund policy/grace period. Take to AD (authorized dealer) for inspection.
I cannot/will not attempt to authenticate this particular watch however, for several reasons. Best of luck.

My understanding is it's actually both. The mark does function as an anti-counterfeit measure, since it is laser etched and therefore difficult for many counterfeiters to reproduce. Omega also had the mark copyrighted in a number of countries, which gave them standing to sue Costco for copyright infringement in the U.S. Whether Omega always had that objective in mind when they developed it is speculation. It wouldn't surprise me if they did, but that doesn't change the fact that the mark does function to distinguish counterfeits.

That's great watch, congratulations on the box too, those babies are as rare as hens teeth!

I've had mine on a 1162 bracelet for a couple of years and found it very comfortable and I also like the all steel 70's look. But a friend of mine has his cal 910 on a strap and it looks fantastic, a bit more subtle on the wrist.
